We can’t ignore the impact of AI in pharmacy any longerAs I prepped my presentation for Asembia, I was reflecting on just how much the conversation around AI has accelerated in the span of one year. Coming out of the AMCP AI pre-conference, what struck me wasn’t just the progress being made, but the sheer volume of signals coming at us from every direction. Some of it is real and actionable. Some of it is still early. All of it can feel like a lot to process, especially in a pharmacy landscape that’s already complex, regulated, and constantly evolving. What I’m seeing across conversations with leaders is less about resistance to AI and more about how to engage with it without getting overwhelmed. There’s a natural tendency to either lean out and wait for clarity or lean in and try to absorb everything. Neither extreme is particularly sustainable. The more useful path, at least from where I sit, is finding a way to stay connected to what matters such as developing your own rhythm for learning, pressure-testing ideas with people you trust, and paying attention to where real progress is starting to show up. That’s what led me to write this piece (link below). Not to prescribe a singular approach, but to offer a lens for thinking about how we each show up in this moment. As we move through another busy stretch of industry meetings, my takeaway is simple: you don’t need to have all the answers, but you do need to stay engaged. The leaders who do that consistently are the ones who will be best positioned to make sense of what’s coming next, and to act on it with confidence. Cheers,
